Daniel ‘Danny’ Lamoreaux | PhD

Psychologist & Therapist | Pronouns: he/him/his

Danny Lamoreaux believes that personal struggle is deeply sacred and can imbue life with positive meaning when treated with compassion and acceptance. His desire to witness and walk with others through their struggle is what drew him to psychology and the practice of therapy. Danny is dedicated to treating those he sees not just as “clients” but as fellow humans and to fostering a collaborative therapeutic space where there is zero judgment, genuine compassion, and shared vulnerability.

Danny obtained his B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Arizona. Although Danny initially spent his career evaluating and supporting K-12 students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental disabilities, a personal mid-life crisis reignited a deeper calling within him. Prompting him to obtain his general psychology license and pursue a path in therapy.

Danny’s psychotherapy approach is primarily based on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and he utilizes data-based progress monitoring to track growth and healing. ACT principles emphasize willingness to feel pain and struggle, the use of mindfulness practices, and the exploration of values-based choices to construct a life of meaning despite one’s daily challenges. Concepts from the Enneagram and Jungian psychology can be applied when appropriate to help individuals with a spiritual focus in their lives develop a more authentic spiritual identity and lifestyle.

Danny takes only virtual clients. He is an LGBTQIA2+ advocate and ally, and he supports teens and adults dealing with anxiety-based disorders, depression, mood disorders, faith crisis/transition, spiritual abuse, religious trauma, sexual shame, and mid-life “crisis.” He also provides psychological evaluation services to assess autism, ADHD, personality, intellectual abilities, general behavioral health disorders, and specific learning disabilities.

Danny is a licensed psychologist in Arizona and is PSYPACT/APIT certified. He accepts clients from most of the continental U.S.A. (click here for a list of states https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap)
