Psychological Evaluations
What are the benefits of a psychological evaluation?
Seeking a virtual psychological evaluation can be a powerful step toward clarity and direction. We provide online psychological testing for preteens, teens, and adults to better understand concerns related to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, personality patterns, and executive functioning deficits.
Many individuals pursue a comprehensive psychological evaluation online to obtain documentation for school accommodations, college accommodations, workplace accommodations, disability services, or personalized treatment planning. Virtual evaluations offer the same structured, evidence-based assessment process as in-person testing, while allowing you to complete the evaluation from the comfort of your home.
A comprehensive psychological evaluation provides more than a diagnosis (when appropriate). It offers a deeper understanding of cognitive strengths, emotional functioning, behavioral patterns, and practical next steps. The evaluation process helps identify and prioritize treatment goals and provides clear, individualized recommendations to support success in school, work, and daily life.

Types of Psychological Evaluations Offered
- ADHD Evaluation (Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder Testing): Comprehensive ADHD testing and executive functioning assessment for preteens, teens, and adults. This evaluation examines attention, impulsivity, organization, working memory, and behavioral regulation across home, school, and work settings. Online ADHD evaluations help determine whether diagnostic criteria for ADHD are met and provide clear recommendations for treatment, school supports, or workplace accommodations.
- Autism Spectrum Evaluation (Autism Testing):Comprehensive autism spectrum disorder (ASD) evaluation assessing social communication, sensory processing, behavioral patterns, restricted interests, and developmental history. Virtual autism testing helps clarify whether autism spectrum traits are present and provides individualized recommendations for support, services, and treatment planning.
- Learning Disability & Cognitive Evaluation (Psychoeducational Testing): Comprehensive learning disability testing and cognitive assessment measuring intellectual functioning, processing skills, and academic achievement (including standardized measures such as the Woodcock-Johnson V). This evaluation identifies learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, giftedness, and specific academic skill gaps, and provides documentation for school, college, or testing accommodations.
- Personality Assessment (Emotional & Personality Testing): In-depth personality and psychological functioning assessment evaluating personality structure, emotional regulation, coping style, interpersonal functioning, and self-concept. Personality testing helps clarify long-standing emotional or relational patterns, differentiate between diagnostic possibilities, and guide more targeted, individualized treatment planning.
- Diagnostic Evaluation for Anxiety, Depression & Behavioral Health Conditions: Comprehensive mental health diagnostic assessment evaluating emotional and behavioral concerns such as anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma-related conditions, and mood or behavioral challenges. This evaluation clarifies diagnoses, differentiates overlapping symptoms, and provides practical, personalized recommendations to guide therapy, treatment planning, and next steps.
What You Can Expect from a Psychological Evaluation
Our approach to virtual psychological evaluations and diagnostic testing is collaborative, strengths-based, and question-driven. Rather than simply assigning a diagnosis, the evaluation process is designed to help you understand how your brain works, identify cognitive and emotional strengths, and clarify patterns affecting learning, behavior, mood, and daily functioning.
You will receive clear, practical recommendations and personalized strategies to support meaningful change at school, work, and in everyday life. The goal is greater self-understanding, accurate diagnostic clarity (when appropriate), and actionable guidance to support long-term success and well-being.
The Evaluation Process
Symmetry Counseling offers two structured evaluation pathways depending on your needs:
- Interview + Rating Scales (No Virtual Testing)
This option is appropriate when concerns can be addressed through clinical interview, developmental history, and standardized behavioral rating scales.- Optional Referral Session
We begin with a brief consultation to clarify your concerns, review available evaluation packages, and outline what to expect. - Intake Interview (90 minutes)
A comprehensive clinical interview with the caregiver (and client, when appropriate). We review developmental, medical, academic, and behavioral history, identify the specific questions you want the evaluation to answer, and determine which standardized rating scales will be completed and by whom (e.g., parents, teachers, partners). - Feedback Session (60 minutes)
We review findings from the interview and rating scales, discuss diagnostic impressions (if applicable), and walk through individualized recommendations. You receive a written evaluation report, which we review together to ensure clarity and practical next steps.
- Optional Referral Session
- Full Evaluation Including Virtual Testing
This option includes cognitive and/or academic testing in addition to interview and rating scales.- Optional Referral Session
We discuss concerns, determine the appropriate evaluation package, and review the full process. - Intake Interview (60 minutes)
A focused clinical interview to clarify referral questions, review background history, and plan the testing battery. Dr. Lamoreaux explains logistics (technology setup, mailed materials if needed) and assigns rating scales to caregivers and/or teachers. - Virtual Testing Session (2–3 hours)
Standardized cognitive and/or academic assessments are administered virtually (e.g., Woodcock-Johnson V). During testing, Dr. Lamoreaux observes effort, engagement, and behavioral patterns while ensuring conditions meet standardization requirements. - Feedback Session (60 minutes)
We review testing results alongside interview and rating scale data, discuss diagnostic conclusions (if appropriate), and explore tailored recommendations for school, work, or home. You receive a comprehensive written report and leave with clear, actionable guidance.
- Optional Referral Session
