Sara Hughes-Zabawa is passionate about helping clients thrive as they enhance the quality of their lives through fostering improved awareness, insight, skill-building, and quality education and resources. She believes that trust is the foundation of a positive client-provider relationship, so she provides a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their unique experiences. Sara offers a strengths-based approach that honors the client’s inner wisdom and ability to create meaningful change.

 Sara received a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Michigan. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in Women’s Studies from Brigham Young University. 

Sara’s diverse clinical therapy experiences have allowed her to assist diverse populations and life circumstances. Over the past five years, a large portion of her career has focused on the themes of spiritual development and faith transition, grief and loss, and treating depression and anxiety symptoms. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, Sara supports clients in living wholehearted lives while increasing shame resiliency skills and enhancing courage and authentic living. As a trauma-informed clinician, Sara has extensive experience working with trauma survivors and their loved ones. Sara often helps LGBTQIA2+ individuals and their families develop advocacy skills, foster acceptance, and explore the relationship between their sexual and gender identity with their religious and spiritual beliefs. Sara also helps clients navigate difficult life transitions, especially those related to their faith, by providing an opportunity for self-reflection, increased compassion, and support in creating healthy boundaries as they honor their wellness. 

Sara recently became an advisor to Uplift Kids, a resource for creating weekly spiritual experiences that build wonder, resilience, and compassion.

$200 for the first diagnostic/assessment 90-minute session
$145 per 50-minute coaching/consultation session
